Information collection and use
When using certain tools and features of our website, you will provide personal information. TrueQuest Communications (publisher of VISION Magazine) and the National Religious Vocation Conference (owner of VISION Magazine) are the sole owners of the information collected on this Site. We may sell, share, and/or rent your individual personal information, such as your name, email address, mailing address, or vocational interest information. This information will only be shared, however, with those sources who provide resources, information, or services for those interested in vocations and spiritual development. This includes partners, sponsors, and persons not working as employees or contractors for TrueQuest Communications and the National Catholic Religious Conference.

In order to use this Site, you must first complete the registration form. During registration you are required to give certain contact information (such as name, email address, and mailing address). We will restrict the sharing of your information to the owners and managers of this website and those religious communities you have indicated an interest in.

We need your mailing and vocational interest information at the time of registration so that your information may be sent to Religious Communities and Resources that you desire information from. Site visitors have varying experiences, backgrounds, and concerns related to vocations. This information will help us and the Religious Communities and Resources that receive your information to focus content to best meet your needs.

No personal information needed to use website
We do not require any demographic information (such as income level) or unique identifiers (such as Social Security number). When you become a member of vocationguide.org, you must enter contact information and vocational interest information. This information may be shared with other Site tools to simplify your experience on vocationguide.org. Your information will generally only need to be entered once -- the data will be securely stored on our servers.

However, you do not need to become a member of vocationguide.org to benefit from the Site content and most of the Site tools. Please remember that we are very careful with whom we share your data.

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. We currently use cookies to store Religious Community and Resources selections. This is so that you may come back to the Site at a later date and select additional communities from whom you would like to receive information. We never use cookies of any kind to collect or store personal information about you or your vocational interests.

We will not allow any of our sponsors or business partners to use cookies on our Site. However, we have no access to or control over any cookies they may use on their sites.

We use email and IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users' movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

We may share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. Understandably, they will likely want to know about the demographics of our site members. This is group data that breaks down information about the broad characteristics of our users. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.

We may partner with another party to provide specific services. If so, we will ask you whether or not you want to sign up for such services. If you choose to sign up for any new services, we may ask you to provide our partner with your name or other contact information that is necessary for that partner to provide the services. We will not allow any third party to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

This Site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that vocationguide.org is not and never can be responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our Site and to read the privacy statements of each Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Site.

Surveys and contests
From time to time, our Site may request information from you via surveys or contests. Participation in these is completely voluntary and you, therefore, have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address) and demographic information (such as zip code and age level). Contact information will be used to notify winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this Site.

This Site takes every precaution to protect your information. We do everything in our power to protect user information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our editorial staff to develop article ideas) are granted access to information about vocationguide.org users. All employees and independent contractors are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.

If you have any questions about the security at our Site, please email the editors.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Web site so you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify you by way of an email. You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner. We will not use your personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected without your permission.
